Power Team

Power Team

POWER Team is made up of the Alumni of the Christian & Missionary Alliance in Canada. All those who have served the C&MA as a pastor or IW (International Worker) and is “retired” from that formal ministry with the C&MA in Canada, is a member of POWER Team. Some people do not like the word “retired”. We recognize we do not retire from life or serving, but now we might be reassigned/retreaded at a different pace and in a different place.

We are a team who have experienced the successes & challenges in ministry. Through these experiences, we have learned and grown in our walk with the Lord. We have a passion, backed up by the Districts Superintendents and our President, to come alongside those in retirement to reconnect them to the Alliance family, to empower them to encourage the next generation of pastors and missionaries.

Our Purpose

We are blessed by each Canadian District’s POWER Team Volunteer Coordinators. They desire to keep us connected and encouraged in service during this season of life.

Our Plan

Step #1: POWER = Preparing Our Workers Entering Retirement/re-alignment

  1. The Big Transition
  2. Planning, Saving & Investing for the Future

Step #2: POWER = Providing Our Workers Excellence in Retirement

  1. How to be a Christian when not in charge
  2. How to have our identity in Christ and not in our ministry -by Sunder Krishnan
  3. How to be the next generations greatest cheerleaders -by Shyamala Krishnan

Step #3: POWER = Providing Our Workers Excellent Resources

  1. Retirees are the “resources” with decades of experiences and the present pastors and IWs are the “workers”
  2. The “workers” that we desire to come along side for encouragement, wisdom and cheerleaders

POWER Team was birthed November 2013 with grass roots concerned Pastors and IWs who desired to keep the Alliance family in Canada, who have served our denomination for decades, connected and encouraged. Realizing that “retirement” came suddenly due to age, health, ministry challenges, etc. we needed to care for those who have served. With the baby boomer group moving through and people living longer, these “retired” servants of the Lord still have 10-20 years of tread still on their tires. Within the next decade over 1300 of our family members will make up this team. They are still valuable to God and to our Alliance family.
