RESPONSIBILITIES/POSSIBILITIES
We’re looking for someone who can build and develop as part of a Pastoral team. An individual with the sensitivity to know where God is moving and working and who possesses the ability to adjust and adapt quickly at the Spirit’s leading. As a result, the description and the allotments below are only guidelines.
OBJECTIVE:
The primary focus of this position is to help us grow in inter-generational, inter-cultural Biblical worship. This will involve providing leadership to our music, creative arts, and tech ministries for all corporate Church Family gatherings. To serve to minimize the distractions as we gather as the people of God in the presence of God to hear from, respond to and remember who God is, what He has done and what He has promised to do.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee corporate worship services and special programs, coordinating service details based on collaboration with the Lead Pastor. The Worship Pastor will be a team-player and a team-builder with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to develop a long-term plan for growing the worship ministry and inspire those around him to join in the pursuit of that vision. This position is pastoral, requiring service not solely as a musical, technical, and creative arts director but also as a spiritually mature shepherd to the people in the church.
• Recruiting, equipping and energizing a cross-generational, diverse, sustainable team of leaders and volunteers within the music, creative arts, and tech ministries
• Oversee volunteer music, creative arts and tech leaders and their teams as they provide support for corporate gatherings
• Ensure timely and appropriate opportunities for development and training for those serving in the areas of music, creative arts, and tech
• Work with the Lead Pastor in developing a corporate response that is faithful to scripture and accurately reflects First Alliance Church’s rich diversity
• Provide guidance and support for ministries using First Alliance’s tech and/or musical equipment
• Fully participate in the First Alliance staff team (e.g. meetings, retreats, etc.)
• Assist in building an inter-generational discipling culture within the First Alliance Church family
• Consistent participation in the corporate body at First Alliance based on gifting
• Ongoing professional development both practically and spiritually.
• Reports to the Lead Pastor
REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Biblical Higher Education from recognized and reputable institution
• Music and/or creative training and/or experience
• Comfort within and leading from a variety of music and creative arts genres and styles.
• A mature, growing relationship with Jesus evidenced by regular practice of spiritual disciplines while showing growth in the traits listed in 1 Tim 3:2-13
• Strong abilities and proven experience in equipping others and working with teams to move the overall vision of the church forward
• Love for the Scriptures and a growing effectiveness in communicating biblical truth
• A healthy rhythm of life and a good reputation both inside and outside the Body of Christ
“Corporate events” being defined as events that are designed to bring the whole church family together. All ages, ethnic, socio-economic, cultural, linguistic, etc. demographics.
• Skilled use of technology in worship and of sound, lighting, computers, presentation software, and video projection
• Provide pastoral care for all creative arts, music, tech, and worship ministry members.
• Oversee the music, creative arts and tech team budget, organization, and volunteers.
