Recently, Islamic extremists in Niger have surrounded “T-town,” a market town where Alliance international workers previously served a small community of 15–20 believers. The extremists told the residents of T-Town and nearby villages to leave. Many fled with only what they could carry. Our workers have heard reports of burning vehicles, stolen animals, and kidnappings—including a local pastor. Thankfully, they also heard a report of some hostages who were released.
Most residents from T-town have fled to a village approximately 30 kilometres away where Harry, a local Fulani believer and evangelist, has confirmed their arrival. Our response team of local believers have travelled to Harry's village to assess immediate needs.
Current Needs
The displaced believers and their families urgently require:
- Temporary shelter for up to 45 displaced family units
- Food supplies to feed up to 45 family units for one month
- Transportation for our team members to deliver aid effectively
Our Response
Our team has already raised $1,200; however, to expand our response and meet the growing needs, we need your help.
How You Can Help
We need an additional $4,000 CAD from the Global Emergency Response Fund (GERF).
Every contribution, regardless of size, brings relief and the hope of Christ to those who have been forced from their homes and communities.
