Discipleship Pastor - River of Life Alliance Church

Our congregation was birthed in 1990 out of a small group of Filipino Christians who were part of First Alliance Church in Calgary. The community had a burning desire to reach out to the diaspora of Filipinos in Alberta. As the ministry continued to grow in numbers, we were able to launch out as Calgary Filipino Alliance Church in 1996. The Lord continued to grow the congregation and develop a new passion for all nations. In 2001, the church was re-named to River of Life Alliance Church. In 2025 River of Life created a new vision to become “a vibrant, multigenerational congregation drawn from diverse ethnic backgrounds, united in purpose to grow as followers of Jesus and equip others to do the same.” RLAC is a very warm and Spirit-filled church!! We are in an exciting season and look forward to adding to our leadership team!

The Discipleship Pastor’s main focus will be developing discipleship pathways at River of Life Alliance Church to align with our new vision statement. River of Life began as “First Filipino Alliance” in Calgary and remains a Filipino-majority church. However, our church has a longing to shift and begin reaching the nations. Therefore, this pastor will work with the staff to develop strategies and equip the community at RLAC to be obedient to the Great Commission. This role will be integral to moving RLAC in our new cross-cultural & multigenerational direction.
